Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Houston has a beautiful 1955 Chevrolet
Bel-Air available for sale. This car is finished in a gorgeous
turquoise/white exterior with a black vinyl interior. This Bel-Air
packs a punch with it's 355 CID V8 engine that goes through an
automatic transmission to a Ford 9" posi with 3.73 gears. The car
was rebuilt by Chris Car Doc of Humble TX and has only covered
about 600 miles since then. The craftsmanship on this car is
stunning. 1955 was the first year for the second generation of
Bel-Air. 1955 was also the year for Bill Haley and His Comets to
release "Rock Around The Clock" and Lady and the Tramp was first
showing in theaters! For 1955, Chevrolet's full-size model received
all new styling and power. The 1955 Bel Air was 3,456 lb (1,568 kg)
and 15 ft (4.6 m) long. It was called the "Hot One" in GM's
advertising campaign. Chevrolet's styling was crisp, clean and
incorporated a Ferrari-inspired grille. Bel Airs came with features
found on cars in the lower models ranges plus interior carpet,
chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on front fenders,
stainless steel window moldings,[1] and full wheel covers. Models
were further distinguished by the Bel Air name script in gold
lettering later in the year. This car is equipped with A/C, AM/FM
radio, cassette, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, vinyl
interior radial tires and alloy wheels. You will find it difficult
to find a nicer Bel-Air. Call the Houston showroom at (832)
