1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible 7 liter V8
This car is 100% solid - no rust or dents or dings. Never been in an accident. Perfectly straight. This car is an amazing runner. Not a squeak or a rattle anywhere. Handles like an absolute dream. I have driven this car pretty regularly and never had any issues. It has been completely reliable and drama free. It’s a drivers car - not some trailer queen. You can drive it anywhere and be proud, it’s perfect as-is or you could spend some money and restore it to showroom condition. It is a perfect candidate for either. Come out and take a look or have someone come inspect the car. You will not be disappointed. The car is everything I say it is and the pictures speak for themselves.
I bought it 4 years ago from a dealer who got it from an estate sale, so I don’t have the full history of the vehicle but here is what I know. The vehicle has it’s original build sheet.
1. It was repainted at some point from it’s original light blue to this deeper blue you see in the photos. It was done well. There are a few tiny nicks here and there. I point them out in the photos. No rust on this car! Not in the fenders, not in the doors, not in the trunk, not on the frame.
2. The original 351 motor was replaced with a 429 Ford CobraJet V8 racing motor (made in 1970). 4 barrel Holly carb. This thing MOVES. It is crazy fast, especially for a big heavy car. Mechanically this car is bullet proof. I’ve taken it on long hauls to Palm Springs and San Francisco and it has always been amazing. This car was made for cruising. Power steering works like a champ. No leaks or suspicious noises.
3. It has an automatic convertible top. I replaced the top and motor due to age. Goes up and down exactly as it should. The top fit is excellent. No gaps between it and the windows, no suspicious leaks. Everything in this car is in good shape.
4. American Racing wheels. They are in good shape. There is some pitting on 2 of the wheels, but nothing serious. You can see in the pics what good shape the wheels are in. One of the hub caps is missing. The tires and shocks are basically new. I put them on when I bought the car. It has the factory drum brakes that work great.
5. I upgraded the AM radio to a stereo FM unit with BlueTooth. You can stream your music from your bluetooth phone to the stereo, or connect via auxiliary input from a headphone jack. The upgraded stereo fits inside the original AM radio housing, so the dash looks completely original however you have a brand new modern stereo. You can also make hands free phone calls thru the stereo. It’s an awesome upgrade.
6. All the lights and electrics work great. Aftermarket gages were added for amps, temp and oil pressure. See pics.
All in all this car is great. It does have almost 100,000 miles on it, so it is not a show car. I know this. That’s why I have included pictures of anything ugly. It is priced to sell. Please don’t email me and tell me about how the car isn’t perfect. If it was perfect, I would be selling it for more than double the price. It’s a drama free car you can buy and drive today.
