For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet Corvette in Cincinnati, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Vehicle Description

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this absolutely beautiful 1971 Corvette Stingray Coupe in stunning condition with only 66,530 miles. This Corvette looks fantastic, drives awesome, and runs extremely strong with a factory GM Performance crate engine. The car has received a "Frame On" restoration with newer paint, a fully restored interior, and the newer crate engine. This Stingray is loaded with options such as air conditioning, factory "custom" interior trim with leather seats, power windows, power steering, power brakes, and tilt-telescopic steering column. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of how exceptionally nice this Corvette really is.

The previous owner of this Stingray is a jet engine mechanic who recently retired from American Airlines. We actually purchased two Corvettes from this gentleman in Nashville, TN. We purchased this orange 1971 Stingray Coupe along with a 1969 Stingray Convertible in Aztec Silver over Gunmetal with a ZZ4 crate engine. He was a true Corvette enthusiast with other Stingrays in his collection along with many other classic cars.

The previous owner, being an airline mechanic, was very meticulous and kept very detailed records on both of the Corvettes we bought. There are dozens and dozens of receipts for maintenance and restoration work competed on this car over the years. The receipts total over $8,700, which does not even include the cost of the paintjob. There is one receipt from Pace Performance, pictured below, for the GM crate engine. This Stingray has all the benefits of the better performance, reliability, durability, and speed from the GM crate engine.

As a side note, this Corvette is b>not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Condition

Exterior

The Orange Flame exterior is in outstanding condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The chrome and other bright work looks great with a bright finish and no pitting or cloudiness. The wheels and center caps are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish. The tires are literally brand new with less than 20 miles on them and are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. This Stingray has absolutely NO RUST ISSUES and as one can see in the many photos of the underside it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and there are no signs of corrosion around the windshield or "birdcage" area, which are the two most notorious areas for rust on a Corvette of this era.

The Stingray looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The black interior of the Corvette looks absolutely superb. The seats look virtually brand new with no split seems, rips, or signs of wear. The carpet is also in like-new condition with no tears, holes, or stains. This included the rear carpet which is often neglected. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash and console are in terrific condition with no fading or sun damage. The radio sounds great and most importantly, it is a Corvette specific unit made just for this car so the dash has never been cut for an aftermarket installation. The door panels are in great condition with no cracks or wear. This Corvette has not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. It starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs fabulous with the newer GM crate engine. As stated above, there are over $8,700 in receipts with the car so it is well sorted mechanically. The car is a great driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The car runs cool and does not overheat. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very quick, it is much quicker than with the stock engine. Also, the engine compartment is clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.

The wipers works as do the indicators, power windows, exterior lights, and all of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The vacuum system for the headlights works and wiper door works with the override switch. The entire operation of the vacuum system for the headlights and wipers can be viewed in the video below. Some of the fiber optic system works. The horn and blower for the heater and a/c do not work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the extra power from the crate engine and the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system. We consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator no longer works. As one can image, over time this is very common.

The car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1971 Corvette is in fantastic driver condition. The beautiful color combination, the excellent condition, and the extensive service history make this Corvette particularly desirable and hard to duplicate. Low mileage examples in this year range are very rare and draw a huge premium over a standard Corvette. This Stingray is a great value and we have it priced to sell. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. This Corvette comes with an ignition key, but no key for the doors. A door key can be provided for an additional $250. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car, it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
