Porsche factory Kartex shows selling the 356C Coupe new to William Wakely, an American abroad, through Porsche France Distributor Sonauto in Paris, France. Service work completed by Porsche Dealer Rossel in Wiesbaden, Germany. Then it went to Riverside, California by 1965, residing in California since and retains its old black California license plates.
Don Emory, Porsche 356 expert, of Fallbrook, Calif., completed a bar shell, full restoration of all components. It has original upper body shell with number stampings on front hood, rear engine lid and both doors. It still has the original floor pans and upper body sheet metal. Beautiful paint and body, brilliant chrome, full mechanical rebuild. Leather interior upholstery completed by K and H Upholstery (Garden Grove, Calif.) and recent service work was completed by 356 engine expert, Jack Staggs, in San Clemente, Calif.
This is arguably one of the best 356 series Porsche anywhere - rare and beautiful colors, matching numbers and full-factory options. A restoration to this level costs well over $125,000 and is very hard to duplicate.
It is a show award winner, capturing the 2017 La Jolla Concours Porsche 356 Class Award and the 2015 Dana Point 356 Club Concours Award.
