For Sale: 1974 Stutz Blackhawk in Carson, California

Vehicle Description

You are looking at a rare Stutz3 Blackhawk VI by The Stutz Motor Company. The Stutz Motor Company was revived August 1968 by New York banker James O’Donnel who joined forces with retired Chrysler stylist Virgil Exner who which designed the Blackhawk. These were manufactured from 1971 through 1987 and were considered the top dog of its time with bold styling and flashy interior. It’s no wonder why so many famous celebreties like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Paul McCartney, Al Pacino, Elton John, Isaac Hayes, and Frank Sinatra owned one. It gets its power from a 455 cubic inch Pontiac V8 that is connected to a GM TH400 3-Speed automatic transmission that makes 425 horsepower and 400 foot pounds of torque. Other features under the hood include power steering and air conditioning. The first thing anyone will notice about the interior is the 24 carat gold plating throughout the car, down to the screws and glove box hinges. The seats come in Gray Connolly leather with the front being two bucket style seats and the rear coming in a bench seat. Other interior features include a clock in the steering wheel, power windows, power locks, power sunroof, cassette player, air controls, wool carpet, and liquor cabinets located in rear sides long with ash trays. The handmade steel body is made at Carrozzenia Padane in Modena Italy and takes 1500 man hours to complete. The exterior is very 1970’s period-esq with its long hood, big “kidney” grille, rear spare tire that protunes the rear trunk, side exiting exhaust, and free standing headlamps. The Silver paint on this vehicle goes through a 6 week process where they lay 18-22 coats of lacquer paint which matches nicely with the exterior chrome. This Blackhawk sits on its original 15 inch wire wheels that are wrapped in Vouge tires and are stopped by disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. Add this rare 1970s car to your collection or enjoy the luxury of the past in style around town.
