Chevelle, Big Block, 4-Speed, Drop-Top...this car rocks! We are
honored to bring this beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396
Convertible to market. This is a true SS, 4-Speed car that was
built on June 24, 1968 and was originally purchased through Lyles
Chevrolet of High Point, North Carolina. It was most recently
vetted by our friends at Leadfoot Muscle Cars of Holland, Michigan
and has always been garage-kept. The car is extremely clean and
turns heads wherever seen.
This Chevelle is finished in factory Matador Red with a black soft
top (code R2) over Black imitation leather bench seats (code 765).
The car is powered by a numbers matching 396ci/350hp Big Block V8
motor with a 4-Speed Manual transmission (code ED). The motor was
built on June 11 in GM's Tonawanda Engine Plant and then mated with
the body at the Baltimore Assembly Plant on June 24. Production
sequence numbers in the VIN and on the block match: 218157.
The car was restored right with no corners cut in 2007. It has a
power convertible soft top, dual exhaust, white letter tires
wrapped around SS wheels, dual bench seats, boot cover, original
manual, and the desirable 4-speed manual gearbox. It also comes
with the original valve covers, air cleaner, and steering wheel. It
is an awesome car with no excuses. Fires on command, shifts smooth,
and offers a nostalgic driving experience. Be sure to check out all
the photos and video of the car running on our main website: Garage
Kept Motors. Call or e-mail if interested. Thank you for
looking.
