Vehicle Description
Here's a custom vintage truck that's sure to turn heads on the
boulevard. This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 not only features a killer,
high-impact exterior, but it also bears a lineup of top-tier
components to provide it with impressive yet dependable performance
and a great driving experience for its next lucky owner.
The bright yellow shade this Chevy carries looks flat out awesome.
It's not only an attention getter from afar, but as you draw
closer, the quality of its application becomes even more evident -
it has excellent color consistency and a smooth texture from front
to back to go with its great shine. Some well-executed
modifications give this classic pickup a look that stands right out
in a crowd while avoiding the appearance that someone went
overboard and performed automotive origami. From the front, you can
see the headlights have been reimagined as they loom deep-set over
a show-stopping custom front grille. Swing around to the side, and
you'll see that the modified rear fenders blend perfectly with the
rest of the truck and that the body panels are fitted exceptionally
well to create perfect lines. Continue to the back to appreciate
the craftsmanship that went into the modified tailgate area, with
its deleted gate, customized taillights and the tips of its quad
exhaust peering out just the right amount from below.
The interior is no less impressive. A pair of modern-looking black
and gray bucket seats fit perfectly inside the cabin, and they have
a fresh look on their Katzkin leather surfaces that reflects the
light usage they've seen. They're flanked by door panels with
patterns that incorporate the colors of the seating to great
effect, with a very clean-looking expanse of carpeting sitting
below. The dash area has been masterfully reworked to create a
dramatic, minimalist appearance that's both nostalgic and
futuristic at the same time, with its signature fan-shaped
instrument cluster that Chevys of this era became so known for
decked out in chrome and featuring a set of white-faced Dolphin
gauges. Four well-placed vents reside in the brushed aluminum
accent below to bring heated or cooled air into the cabin as
needed. The Grant steering wheel sitting on top of a tilt column
looks great in this environment and power windows are a welcome
addition. The bed area looks very sharp, with well-prepped wood
planks lining its floor.
With all the aesthetic work that went into this vintage Chevrolet,
it may seem that the intent was to create an audience magnet to sit
atop a turntable at car shows, but it's perfectly configured for
high-performance yet comfortable driving, as well. A 350 cubic inch
V8 sits in just the stunner of an engine bay you'd expect from
everything else this truck features. Equipped with a Comp Cam,
Edelbrock intake and a Holley QFT carb that sits inside a custom
air cleaner painted to match the surrounding walls of the
compartment, the engine carries 400 horsepower and sounds great as
it breathes into its ceramic coated Hooker headers. A 4-speed 700r4
transmission and 3.73 ratio posi rear end are perfect complements
to the powerplant, offering a combination of strong acceleration
and conveniently low top end revs in highway conditions. Power
brakes - with discs in front - as well as power steering, combine
to give this truck street manners that make it an absolute pleasure
to drive. This outstanding modded Chevy classic sits on a set of
Coys wheels - 20" in front and 22" in back - wrapped with Nitto
low-profile tires.
If you're looking to get behind the wheel of a category-killing
customized classic truck, you have to see this 1955 Chevrolet 3100.
