Vehicle Description
1971 Dodge Challenger started life out as a 318 V-8 w/3-speed on
the floor. NOW HAS 440ci with a 4-speed OVERDRIVE A-833
Transmission. This trans is AWESOME as now you can leave briskly in
first 3 gears, but you have a .72-1 overdrive in 4th. Engine tachs
out at around 2K rpm at 80mph on highway. This one change was
monumental in the drive-ability of this car. Took some minor mods
to accomplish this swap, but it is a massive improvement over the
standard and more common A-834 manual trans with 1-1 final drive.
ALL NEW: repro. carpeting, repro. seat covers professionally
installed with new foam, McLoud racing clutch, Lakewood
scattershield bellhousing. Newer BFG Radial T/A's on 15' (7's and
8's) Mopar Ralley wheels. These wheels are rare and very hard to
find in 15'. Tires are huge at 295/50 series in rear, and 245/60
series in front. Still easy to steer though. Car has all ORIGINAL
PAINT and SHEETMETAL. This is a RUST FREE AZ car. Original dual
(both sides) sport mirrors. Original three speaker radio w/rear
fader control. Car now has a real T/A fiberglass hood (w/correct
hood hinges/springs), and fiberglass spoiler (not reproduction)
that were added during the course of it's life. Manual steering,
manual brakes. Brakes are new. New steering box at 16-1 for
tighter/quicker control. This car is a SUPER NICE driver. Has
blemishes, dings, and scratches from it's 46 year life, but is
soooo nice to drive and looks so cool. NO RUST ANYWHERE. -Vehicle
