Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1987 Jaguar XJ-6.
Discussions of Jaguar's classic XJ6 are invariably emotional. What
other four-door sedan on the market combined such beauty, such
athleticism, such luxurious accommodations, such desirability, such
a reasonable price...and for a few years? Jaguar's escape from the
imploding British Leyland and the insertion of new management in
the late 1970s finally allowed the brand to once more focus on its
core mission, and to improve its cars' build quality. The superb
Series III XJ6, considered the last of company founder Sir William
Lyons's cars, became Jaguar's salvation and crowning achievement in
the 1980s, and today remains a sparkling everyday-driveable
collector car. The last Series III XJ6 was built in May of 1987,
and it marked the last installation of the vaunted XK engine in a
production Jaguar. The improved build quality and reliability that
made these cars so desirable when new has meant that a surprising
number of nice examples remain available today, and they don't
suffer from the electronic complexity or updated styling of their
square-edged "XJ40" descendants. Options on this 1987 Jaguar XJ-6
