Vehicle Description
Very rare, first year Station Sedan with lovely wood, and super
solidbody characteristics! Great color combination with
restoration completedapproximately 15 years ago! It remains an
outstandingexample representing one of only 3,864 built over their
3years ofproduction! We are very excited to offer this
incredibly solid, and cosmetically restored 1948 Packard Eight
6-passenger Station Sedan! Finished in gorgeous Packard Blue
Metallic over all new Tan textured cloth & vinyl combination
interior, it remains one of the most solid examples we have seen in
many years! Powered by its original, numbers correct 288ci Straight
8 (G261532) producing 135 horsepower mated to a 3-speed
column-shifted manual transmission, it continues to start without
hesitation, and operate as Packard intended! Features include
Packard engine oil filtration system, Cormorant hood ornament, fog
lamps, heater/defrost, pushbutton AM radio with roof antenna, rear
fender shrouds, faux wood dash & window garnish moldings, front &
rear Master Guards bumper protection, turn signals, Glare-proof
rearview mirror, Universal 7.60-15 4-play wide whitewall tires, and
more! The rear storage compartment is nicely finished inside with
beautifully stained wood slats and stainless steel rails allowing
for the rear seat to be folded down for optimum cargo space!
Showing only 46,151 miles, and considering the minimal visible wear
since restoration, we feel it is too difficult to claim as
completely accurate. The body and chassis remain remarkable solid
and rust free. It has been repainted its original color in modern
base/clear fashion approximately 15 years ago with professional
results. It continues to remain quite gorgeous and show ready! The
exterior chrome is also continuing to provide much shine and luster
having the bumpers and exterior door handles already re-chromed.
Inside, one would marvel at the condition level of wood-painted
trim pieces, undamaged headliner, steering wheel, and remarkably
original chrome appointments! All main features continue to operate
as they should. It hails most recently from Deltona, Florida since
2003. We have just contributed a new battery, new brake master
cylinder with freshly bled braking system, new spark plugs & wires,
engine oil/filter, new exhaust muffler & pipe, along with fully
flushing the original gas tank and having it properly sealed for
years of continued service. This beautiful vehicle represents a
unique opportunity to a Packard collector or enthusiast. Please
feel free to call with questions or schedule a chance to review in
person!
