Vehicle Description

Another Crawdaddy Classic!

MECHANICAL
400, 6.6 liter, J model. VIN indicates manufacture in Atlanta GM plant. I acquired out of Nashville with 55k miles showing on odometer. Motor just rebuilt top-to-bottom by a Bobby Hamilton NASCAR racing team member, with about 500 miles on build. I just replaced the break-in period oil. Motor is slightly bored over, approx. 0.30 and now over 300 hp with a mild cam and subtle lope. Rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet carb. 400 trans serviced.

New AC compressor with R134 freon. Many other new components under the hood...hoses, wires, belts, ATI distributor, harmonic balancer, power steering pump, brake booster. Wilwood disc brakes up front. Newer shocks, anti-sway bar, and other front end and suspension components. Newer dual exhaust. Wheels, trim rings, and BF Goodrich TA Radials are all very good.

INTERIOR is very clean, 8 of 10. No dash cracks or seat tears. Very nice original steering wheel. All seats pristine white. Black center console and gear shifter very clean, no wear or scratches. Door panels are basically flawless white. Windows roll up and down easily. All glass good. Clean black cut pile carpet. Rear tray still deep black. Radio missing but no dash cuts. New Sony high output 6x9 3-way speakers correctly mounted on rear tray. Original white headliner is very clean, no stains, but two small holes in headliner.

BODY//PAINT is very rust free, but there are some hood dents and a few other things that need repair. Was going to finish the restoration myself but I got busy restoring two homes which require cash. Now that mechanical is done, you could easily finish up the project. I have a quote from a custom body/paint shop here in Phoenix that I use all the time, ranging from $3200-$4000. Here's a punch list of body/paint items needed to finish, included in the quote:

Minor hood damage repair
Replace missing front quarter fender trim piece.
All stainless trim pieces polished and straightened
Re-chrome rear bumper. (It's okay but showing some pitting)
Sand/smooth/block/base/clear respray of entire car, including new factory correct sport mirrors
Re-spray inside of trunk in stock speckle gray
Repaint fuel tank black to go with the rest of undercarriage which is already flat black

I am including all the pictures I have so far. With body/paint done, car will really pop like a magazine car and in my view marketable in the low to mid $20's. The professionally built 400 motor alone is worth $7k to $8k.
