Vehicle Description
First introduced in 1957, the Bonneville was a large full size
flagship car sold by Pontiac and spanned 10 generations over nearly
50 years. The third generation example was sold from 1961 to 1964
and was one of the largest and most luxurious Pontiacs ever
offered. WIth the most standard features, the largest available
powertrains, and distinctive brand styling cues, the third
generation was enough to propel Pontiac to third place in the sales
race.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very rare 1963
Bonneville for your consideration. The headline news with this car
is the 421cid V8 mated to the rare floor shift 4-speed manual
transmission, a combination of which just 15 were made according to
the current owner. Professionally rebuilt, it features factory
Tri-Power carbs courtesy of three Rochester 2bbls. The engine
features the correct casting number of 543797. It is also equipped
with power steering as well as an aluminium radiator. Initially
sold as a blue over blue with white top, this car received a very
comprehensive professional color change. The exterior has been
repainted Starlight Black and is excellent condition on the
perfectly straight body. No rust, rot, filler, or accident repair
has been done and the frame is likewise free of blemishes. The
chrome and rubber trim is superb and very original and complete.
The convertible top was recently replaced and a black fabric was
chosen to replace the factory white. The top fitment and power
operation is flawless. Originally blue, the interior was replaced
with high quality black leather that is in wonderful shape. The
interior has excellent wood and metal trim and features a factory
tachometer as well as gauges for temperature, oil, and vacuum. It
also features the factory Pontiac heater as well as factory dual
speaker. Other than the color change, everything is very original
and shows extremely well. The rare factory "8-lug wheels" are
present and in nice shape with decent GT Radial tires. Dual exhaust
and Safe-T-Track rear differential are other notable features. Tons
of other parts have been fitted and this is a very solid running
and driving example.
Featured in some prominent Pontiac publications, this rare bird is
sure to make a splash wherever it goes. With tons of accompanying
documents such as a copy of the original build sheet, owner's
manual, appraisal and service records, this is a hard car to beat.
