Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this sweet little MGB
Roadster for the public market. This car has always been enthusiast
owned, cared for and is fresh out of a long time private
collection. According to the original window sticker on hand, The
car entered the US via the Port of Los Angeles and was sold new by
Wallace Import Inc. of Phoenix AZ and resided in Mesa, Arizona for
much of its life. The car is powered by its original numbers
matching 1.8 liter inline four cylinder motor fed by MG's signature
stock twin SU Carbs, 4 synchromesh gearbox, and rear wheel drive.
Other factory features included: Center console with arm rest,
padded sun visors, lockable glove box, oil cooler, anti-roll bar,
radial ply tires, front disc brakes, speedometer with trip counter,
tachometer, fuel, oil and water temp gauges, interior courtesy and
map light, cigar lighter, windshield washer, alternator, AM/FM etc.
With the exception of a repaint at one time and some interior work,
this MGB remains quite original and retains and outstanding core
structure. It is important to note, that this car has never been
taken apart and put back together like most cars of this era. It
has always remained intact and has never been neglected from a
service aspect. The exterior paint is lovely in all areas and the
original trim is complete including the roof rack, the soft top
appears to have been replaced and is excellent, the interior
features newer seat material and a near perfect dash. Mechanically,
this chromed bumper B roadster is spot on; a very spirited car that
loves to be driven. The four-speed gearbox puts your reflexes in
touch with the 1798 cc engine, an engine that has been deemed as
economical as it is lively. The rack and pinion steering, the
race-seasoned suspension and the front disc brakes combine to give
you precise, sure-footed handling and stopping. The kind of
response that turns driving pressure into driving pleasure.
Before MG, there was not much of a sports car scene in America. MG
changed that with when it first introduced the TC to the American
market. By the mid 70's, the MGB had earned the SCCA National
Champion in E production for the third year in a row. One can see
how these cars remain popular in today's culture. A true classic
open air sports car that remains relatively affordable. This 1974
MGB is an extremely honest example with an impressive owner and
service history. Records that go back to day one and remain
consistent through today. If you are in the market for a quality,
fully sorted chrome bumper MGB, the 1974 MGB offered here will not
disappoint. Documentation includes: Original Window Sticker,
Original Owners Hand Book, Original Passport to Service Book, and
Full Service History including a few sessions with legendary MG
mechanic, Jon Twist of University Motors.
