Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this heavy hitter, a 1970
Plymouth Hemi Cuda tribute located at our showroom in West
Deptford, NJ! Shedding its Valiant roots, the Plymouth Barracuda
entered the scene with a brand-new look in 1970. Featuring a
radical restyling on the new E-Body platform, this car was ready to
do battle against GM and Ford pony car contenders in performance
and style. The challenging task of fitting Chrysler's 426 Hemi
engine into the previous A-Body Barracudas was one of the main
reasons a redesign of the car was necessary. The Hemi fit like a
glove in the new E-Body thanks to the larger cowl structure and all
was set to rock the muscle car world. This incredible Hemi Cuda
tribute continues the legend from the powerplant to the paint!
Nothing was left untouched during the extensive restoration by
Clark Classic Restorations in Greenville, NC. While it started life
as a 318 Barracuda, this car underwent an unparalleled
transformation into the performance machine you see now. Utilizing
original sheet metal, the body was mounted on a rotisserie where
the real work began. A gorgeous coat of Lemon Twist Yellow paint
was applied along with the sporty hockey-stripe bodyside stripes
that accentuate the performance aspect of the Plymouth Cuda. The
heart and soul of the car, the fully-built 426 CID V8 Hemi crate
engine rumbles with authority through Mandrel bent exhaust and
ceramic long tube headers. Linked to the powerplant is a Mancini
Racing 727 automatic transmission that shifts beautifully thanks
to an iconic pistol grip slap-stik shifter. Press on the gas to
feel that familiar launch found only with a Big Block Mopar! That's
a Mancini Racing Dana 60 9 rear with 3.54 gears! Additional
performance features include Heavy Duty Dutchman 35 spline Axle,
light weight driveshaft and 1350 Spicer U joints, Heidts Front
End, Hemi K Member, Correct Hemi Leaf Springs, Powermaster Starter
and Alternator, Adjustable Koni shocks, Track Style Front and Rear
Brake Linings, Power Front Disc Brakes with slotted drilled rotors
and so much more! Stroll to the inside of this gorgeous ride to
reveal a crisp white leather interior that looks just as it did
when it left the factory thanks to Legendary Auto Interiors. Take
a seat in the comfortable buckets and blast that AM/FM Radio with 8
Track and MP3 input rebuilt by Ward's Classic Radio Repair! Cruise
with the matching white automatic convertible top down on those
sunny days and relax knowing you are driving the coolest car of
them all! Wrap your hands around the custom wood steering wheel and
take note of the clean gauges including a fully-functioning clock.
From the unique slotted courtesy lights to the seat belts redone by
Ssnake-Oyl of Texas, the interior on this Cuda is off the hook!
Simply stated, this Cuda is awesomeness in physical form. Just
look at that Shaker Hood, a standard option with those who checked
off the Hemi box when they sat with their Chrysler-Plymouth Dealer.
This hood did more than just shake when the Hemi unleashed its
fury, it allowed cooler, denser air to enter those twin carbs! The
pice de rsistance is the set of 15x8 rallye wheels that convey
the message that this car means business. The 1970 Hemi Cuda
produced some of the most frightening quarter-mile times ever back
in the day and it remains one of the most revered muscle cars ever
made. Here's your chance to own one! This build was highly
documented and was done right as anyone can see. With only 284
miles on the build, this car is ready to run! Give us a call today
to make this beauty yours! To view this 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
