My wife is the second owner and has driven the car frequently since purchasing it in October of 1992. It has always been garaged and shows it.
THE POSITIVES:
Everything that has ever "needed" repairing has always been repaired. Cruise control excepted. The battery is less than one year old. Front windshield and gasket were replaced in 2017. New belts, oil cooler hoses, rear brake pads, glow plugs. The car starts easily and loves the open road. Tracks perfectly Fun to drive. Draws attention every day. Good acceleration. Comfortable seating. Michelin Tires. One of the last all-metal cars built. The engine is perhaps the best one Mercedes has ever built.
THE NEGATIVES:
The cruise control does not work. Doubt it is too big a job. We never used it. The rear engine seal has a very minor leak. The car uses about a pint of oil between oil changes which we do every 3000 miles - WITHOUT FAIL. The back bumper has a couple of small areas that could be re-chromed. The rear window regulators are weak. One does not work. There are some small cracks on the original dash.
We do not believe that you will find a better Mercedes of this age and body style. This is truly a beautiful, dependable vehicle.
