Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1995 Chevrolet Camaro
Z28 1LE. The 1995 Camaro Z28 1LE is a no frills SCCA ready track
car for the showroom stock racing class that had emerged in Canada.
In this showroom stock division the Camaro was able to be refined
and became a strong competitor on the streets and a weapon on the
track. As GM engineers were examining the 1LE's shortfalls on the
track they continued to improve year by year. The 1LE featured
unique front brakes which borrowed the large 12 inch front rotors
from the Caprice and utilized a caliper manufactured by PBR in
Australia which was also used on the corvette but with
modifications to the Camaro spindle was adapted to fit. The Camaro
1LE was not a standard production car and was an option that could
only be ordered, very few were ordered and subsequently produced
each year. The 1995 model year marked the 8th year the 1LE option
was available and only 106 of these were produced. This 1995
example is powered by a LT1 350CI V8 rated at 275hp and backed by a
Tremec 6-speed special close ratio manual with a Hurst Shifter.
With its upgraded suspension over your standard Z28 Camaro's this
car hugs the curves and carves out a nice line its standard
counterpart would have a very difficult time following. It's said
that the Camaro is " A small vicious animal that eats Mustang." And
this one lives up to its name with its upgraded rear end, paired
with the upgraded suspension to transfer its power more effectively
than its competitor and the roar from the exhaust as you put the
pedal to the floor. This 1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28/1LE for sale is
located in our Indianapolis Showroom and can be seen in greater
