This particular example was made on June 22, 1998 at BMW's Greer, South Carolina factory. It came with the following options - limited-slip differential, front passenger airbag, heated driver's sideview mirror and driver's lock, green windscreen, rollover protection system, power windows, heated and sports seats, air-conditioning, cruise control, Harman Kardon stereo, six CD changer and M sports steering wheel. This Z3M drives out nicely with only 37k understood miles. Dressed in a gorgeous Estoril Blue Metallic exterior (code 335) with a contrasting dark blue, semiautomatic power-folding cloth top, the car's paint and trim are in overall excellent order, except for a blemish at the driver's door. The roadster's windows are clear and crack-free while the car's lights are haze-free and intact. There is a subtle black adjustable wing at the car's rear. The bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the car's bumpers fit well to the body, the battery appears new. The car rolls on Continental DWS Extreme Contact tires, size 235/40ZR18 in front and 255/35ZR18 in back. Each tire surrounds an upgraded alloy wheel and the tires and wheels are all in excellent shape. Under the hood is BMW's 3.2L DOHC, 24-valve straight six-cylinder engine (code S52B32) with the following upgrades - a Dinan Stage 2 software upgrade, carbon fiber cold air intake and a Dinan exhaust. This engine is mated to a ZF S5-31 five-speed manual transmission. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, cruise control, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, power door locks, power windows and power and heated bucket seats. Inside, the car features an Estoril Blue Nappa leather interior (code Q6ES). The blue and black bucket seats and black carpet are in excellent order. The three-spoke M sports steering wheel looks great, as do the inner door panel, which echo the rest of the interior's color scheme and the instrument panel, which has a full array of instrumentation. The center console is in very good order, as is the shifter. Rounding out the interior is a JVC AM/FM stereo with CD player and six-disc changer and remote control. The Z3M versions were introduced in 1997 in the roadster (M Roadster) and coup (M Coup) body styles. North American models were powered by theS52 engine. Models were only available with a five-speed manual transmission. Compared to the standard Z3, M models featured alimited slip differential, a wider reartrack and larger brakes (that are shared with the E36 M3). Z3M models have more aerodynamic wing-mirrors, redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised side gills, 17-inch wheels, quad exhausts and engine and oil temperature gauges in the center console. Late 90's BMW M fanatics should get to MotoeXotica Classic Cars quickly as we predict this model will not linger at our facility. Competition to this BMW in 1998 included Acura's NSX, Aston Martin's DB7 Volant, Chevrolet's Corvette Convertible, Mazda's Miata, Nissan's 300ZX Convertible and Toyota's MR2 Roadster. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 37,766 miles and understood to be actual. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR YOUTUBE VIDEO!
