1948 Chrysler Town And Country for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud
to present this brilliant 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Town and Country
Convertible that has been restored and maintained to the highest
concours standards. For 1948, Chryslers top-of-the-line New Yorker
Town and Country convertible was built with a combination of ash
framing, mahogany veneer, and steel. The bodies were crafted with a
complex series of interlocking miter joints with woodworking skills
and a finish that would be the envy of the finest yachts. The Town
and Country is recognized by the CCCA as a Full Classic, making the
model a member of an exclusive and select list of post-war vehicles
that are eligible for prestigious CCCA CARavans and events. This
car will be welcome on any concours field. According to the town
and country Registry, 2,936 cars were produced in 1948. 196 are
known to survive. Our car is featured in Catalina Tan paint Red
trim, and Taupe Bedford Cord interior with a matching Taupe
convertible top. The car was meticulously restored in colors
matching the original trim tag. It is powered by the Chrysler
Spitfire 323CI inline 8-cylinder L-head motor with the Fluid-Drive
hydraulically operated transmission. It has recorder 58,961 miles.
The history file includes receipts for a complete mechanical
overhaul in 2010. Everything sparkles on this car and the view from
behind the wheel is particularly impressive with its long hood and
deco-inspired dashboard. But to the experienced eye, the truly
outstanding appeal of this example is the quality and finish of the
wood and intricate joints. We have not seen its equal. This
beautiful Town and Country was last shown in 2011 at the Greystone
Mansion Concours in Los Angeles, and it was last sold at Gooding's
prestigious 2011 Pebble Beach event. It is ready to be the center
of attention at any major concours. For a serious collector of Full
