Vehicle Description
Looking to make a definitive statement on the boulevard or on the
show circuit? With its ultra high-impact exterior and powerful
drivetrain, this 1936 Ford Cabriolet is a one of a kind,
aggressively-modded street rod that's packed with great features
both inside and out. It displays an impressive level of custom
workmanship and offers a great combination of extreme curb appeal
and outstanding driving experience for its next lucky owner.
It's always wise to start with a strong foundation on any street
machine, and this Cabriolet has that step amply covered, featuring
a very well-constructed steel body that sits on a sturdily
constructed tubular steel chassis. That steel body has been
skillfully graced with a show-stopping black exterior that's set
off with blue flames. Reworked front and rear fenders and shaved
door handles combine with a particularly eye-catching custom chrome
front grille to give this cruiser a decidedly aggressive look.
Should inclement weather ever attempt to interfere with your
motoring enjoyment, you'll have black canvas convertible top at
your disposal that lifts right into place as protection from the
elements and folds neatly in back when not in use. The precise
alignment on this Ford is evident - there are no jutting body
panels or unevenness in any of the gaps between them, and even the
hood recess that exposes the menacing top portion of the scorcher
of a powerplant sitting below shows a great attention to
detail.
Just a quick glance inside will dispel any concerns that the
attention was limited to the exterior. A very impressive blue
leather interior sits just inside a sturdy black roll cage,
featuring a pair of bucket seats out of a '78 Ford Thunderbird that
remain very well-padded and comfortable. Climb in and peer just
beyond the custom aluminum steering wheel that sits on an
adjustable steering column, and you'll find a full assortment of
white-faced AutoMeter gauges residing in a really nice custom
molded dash area that leads down to an inspired-looking center
console. The roll cage serves notice that this street rod is fitted
for battle, but this is a comfortable driving environment, as well.
The storage area in back features a couple of very nice custom
touches that include recessed flames on its walls that match those
of the exterior, as well as numbering on the front wall proclaiming
this street rod's '36 identity. Power windows are an unexpected
convenience in a street machine like this one.
Raise the custom-made hood with its menacing forward lean, and
you'll come face to face with a beast of a powerplant - a 514 cubic
inch V8 that's carrying a pair of carbs sitting on top of a BDS
blower for some otherworldly power. It's running and sounding great
- firing right up when called upon and emitting a dominant note out
of its Flowmaster exhaust. A custom-fabricated radiator teams with
a transmission cooler armed with an electric fan to keep drivetrain
temps in check. With disc brakes at all four corners, you'll have
the fade resistant stopping power that inspires confidence during
more spirited driving. Take a look underneath and you'll see a
sturdy undercarriage that shows it's been well cared for and
features a set of fresh-looking coilovers up front. This
head-turning open-air dynamo sits on a set of 15" Halibrand wheels
armed with BF Goodrich radials up front, and massive,
asphalt-gripping Mickey Thompson tires in back.
