Vehicle Description
Stk 2327 1974 1/2 MGB GT
The Pininfarina-designed MGB GT was announced in October 1965 and
became an overnight success. In its 15-year production span, the GT
proved to be a very popular ride with over 125,000 built. The
rubber bumper 1974 models - considered "1974-1/2" models by MGB
enthusiasts - were built from September through December 1974. The
1,247 rubber bumper 1974 GTs built for our market were the last GTs
to be imported. This fully restored (2014) 1974 MGB GT is a 2-owner
car and a beautiful example of this design. The original Glacier
White finish was professionally reapplied in 2-stage and all chrome
and stainless components are excellent. The restored Autumn Leaf
interior includes new door cards, a seat kit and Moss Motors dark
brown carpet. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD system, tinted glass, new sun
visors and 3-point belts complete the package. A new windshield was
also installed. Mechanically, the GT was virtually identical to the
roadster. It was fitted with MG's reliable 1.8L five-bearing
engine. Our GT engine was completely rebuilt - cylinders bored, new
pistons, resized rods and turned crank. Other new components
include: camshaft, timing chain, oil pump (rebuilt) and water pump.
The twin SU 'HS4' carbs (last year) were rebuilt and a new fuel
pump and fuel tank were installed. Exhaust passes through a Tourist
Trophy stainless header/exhaust. The electrical system was upgraded
to a Delco 100amp set-up. The electric overdrive 4-speed
transmission is very rare and operates flawlessly. New u-joints
have been installed and the differential has been the beneficiary
of the 'anti-clunk' upgrade kit. Most components of the disc/drum
braking system was replaced during the restoration process. A set
of 14" RoStyle wheels mount new 185x70x14 radials. Documentation,
photos and a CD of the restoration are available. This beautiful
British icon is looking for a new driver - you.ALL VEHICLES SOLD '
