Intended as a limited edition halo model to showcase the innovative
XK engine, the Jaguar XK120 captivated the crowds at the 1948
London Motor Show at Earls Court. As the fastest production sports
car in the world and sold at such an affordable price, it was no
wonder that customers overwhelmed the display stand with orders.
Originally cloaked in an alloy skin, the series production versions
featured a steel body that was more efficient to produce. One of
the finest powerplants ever produced, the XK engine was a
revelation, boasting dual overhead camshafts, hemispherical
combustion chambers, seven main bearings, and aluminium alloy
cylinder heads. With 160 bhp on tap, nothing could come close for
the money. With Norman Dewis behind the wheel, an example reached
126 mph on the famous highway at Jabbeke, Belgium, which increased
to 132 mph with some slight aerodynamic modifications. Produced
until 1954, the first iteration of the XK series accounted for
12,078 sales, making the survivors from that run some of the most
admired sports cars of all-time. Eligible for every show lawn in
the world and events like the California Mille, Colorado Grand, and
Copperstate 1000, this is a fantastic vehicle with which to start a
feline love affair.

This stunning XK120 OTS is a fabulous example of the first
iteration of the XK series, which would spawn the legendary C-type
and D-type sports racers that accounted for five overall victories
at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Presented in an attractive Old English
White over Red livery, this beautiful feline also boasts chrome
wire wheels, excellent panel gaps, and correct finishes throughout.
