Vehicle Description
A beautifully black, full-sized 1962 Pontiac Catalina with an
upgraded engine, new interior, and plenty of attitude is quite
appealing. In fact, this one was even blessed by the Godfather of
the GTO!
Big pillar-less hardtop coupes have their own stratosphere of cool,
and it's always expanding. So when it has a glossy black
presentation, you know you have a special cruiser on your hands.
Pontiac's of this era were out to dominate the road with the Wide
Track style that made these a legend. It includes the wraparound
chrome bumpers that were integrated so nicely into the sheet metal;
the bright grille that came to a point to showcase the Pontiac's
arrowhead; and the extra wide rear fenders flared to draw your
attention where the power was meeting the ground. This Catalina
truly owned the boulevard back in the day. It still has that
presence now, especially with the upgrade to bright 15-inch torque
thrust style wheels.
This coupe was expertly restored, and the bucket seat interior
shows it off the best. After all, you can't go over 55 years on
this earth and still look this fresh without some serious
investment. The bright blue radiates against the exterior black for
a stellar total presentation. As a full-size coupe, there's plenty
of room for family and friends, so you get to share this nice
presentation any time you want. Keep them entertained with the
upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. The three-spoke sports steering wheel
gives you an excellent view of the long factory speedo and upgraded
SunPro tach. It tells you there has been an upgrade under the hood.
It's so good that Jim Wangers even signed the dash. Yes, one of the
marketing guys behind the birth of the GTO approves of this
Catalina!
One look in the engine bay, and you can tell this is a powerful
beast. The Pontiac turquoise block, shiny air topper, and matching
valve covers are radiating from within the darkness. More than just
look mean, this one has been upgraded with the 455 cubic-inch V8.
The largest of the large-journal engines was not even available in
'62, and the upgrades didn't stop there. This big motor has been
enhanced and fortified with Edelbrock Performer D-Series aluminum
heads and a large 650 CFM four-barrel carburetor. So the dual
exhaust makes a thunderous sound firing up that tells everyone that
this Catalina is as mean as it looks. But this beastly Pontiac is
easy to tame thanks to features like the stout TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, upgraded rear springs, and
power brakes.
This sale comes with the right paperwork like the build receipts,
maintenance records, and the owner's manual. Plus, there are some
great extra components, including a hood scoop, plenty of bright
work spares, and the iconic Rally II wheels. So it's amazing
something this unique can also be so obtainable. Don't miss out on
this coupe, call today!
