GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this very well kept, highly
original 1966 Ford Thunderbird for all to consider. The third
generation Thunderbird was considered a personal luxury car that
came fully optioned from the factory and featured a well appointed
interior with that featured 4 place seating with buckets in the
front and rear wrap around seats with fold down arm rest. The 390
Cubic inch engine produced 300 horse power and the specially
designed suspension delivered a smooth, soft luxurious ride.
The 1966 Ford offered here has been in the hands of its caring
second owner since 1974 were it was always kept inside and always
regarded as a "Special Car", and driven on weekends, holidays and
special occasions. The odometer shows just 65742 miles and these
miles are said to be original. The car remains in quite remarkable
original condition with the exception on one exterior repaint
completed many years ago. As eluded to earlier, all T-birds came
highly option, the car here features: Power steering, power brakes,
factory a/c, power windows, swing away steering wheel, linear
tracking speedometer, fender mounted turn signal indicators, rear
defrost, bucket seats, console, lots of stainless steel bright work
on the interior, fully lined trunk with full size spare and jack,
fender skirts, wheel covers, etc.
The interior remains completely original and remains in wonderful
properly patina and is complete with all buttons, knobs a switches
present. The trunk area still features its original lining, the
engine bay remains very clean and all original right down to the
original window washer bag, original paint and original hood
insulation. The frame and under body remain all original, clean and
consistent with the rest of the car. Mechanically, the car runs and
drives like a dream. The 390 V8 runs great, the Cruise-o-Matic
transmission shifts smooth and the power brakes provide excellent
stopping power.
