Vehicle Description
The Ford Torino is an automobile which was produced by Ford for the
North American market between 1968 and 1976. It was a competitor in
the intermediate market segment. The car was named after the city
of Turin(Torino, in Italian), considered "the Italian Detroit". The
Torino was initially an upscale variation of the intermediate sized
Ford Fairlane, which Ford produced between 1962 and 1970. After
1968, the Fairlane name was retained for the base models with lower
levels of trim than those models which wore the Torino name. During
this time, the Torino was considered a subseries to the Fairlane.
By 1970 Torino had become the primary name for Ford's intermediate,
and the Fairlane was now a subseries of the Torino. In 1971 the
Fairlane name was dropped altogether, and all Ford intermediates
were called Torino. This name was one of several originally
proposed for the Mustang while in development.
GR Auto Gallery is please to present this 1975 Ford Gran Torino for
consideration. This Torino is finished in a Matte Black paint job
with a clean glossy stripe down the side, replicating the design on
the famous "Starsky and Hutch" car. The current owner picked up
this vehicle from the original owner over 25 years back, since then
he has done all of the modifications and restoration work himself.
The powerplant under the hood in this Gran Torino is a 460 cubic
inch V8 motor, it consists of a Ford 385 block, Ford Truck -0.010

to the owner, these modifications put this vehicle at 553hp @
5000RPM and 623TQ @ 4000RPM. All of this power is shifted through a
Ford C6 transmission with manual shift and an Edge 10" custom
torque converter. It is then being put to the wheels by a Ford 9
