Vehicle Description
One look at this long black 1979 Lincoln Continental stretch
limousine, and you know the boss has arrived. It's the perfect mix
of well restored and well preserved to deliver the best color
combo, a loaded A/C interior, a big V8 under the hood, and an
obtainable price. It's good to be the boss.
Lincoln has always been a premium nameplate, but not all of them
were created equal. You're looking at a custom-built stretch
limousine crafted by Armbruster Stageway. Those who know the limo
business understand these people have been around for over a
century, and they are one of the few craftsman shops to still be
around today. It's this long-lasting quality reputation is why the
sheet metal looks like the Lincoln factory made it all. Of course,
it also helps that this went through an exterior restoration in
2014 that added the piano black paint and re-chromed the bumpers.
That's what makes this one so retro and cool all in the first
impression. Plus, the concealed headlights, full vinyl roof, and a
Rolls-Royce style grille give this an international luxury flair
that lives up to the Continental name. All the details are correct,
too - from the turbine-style wheel covers, to the little guards
over the parking lights. We all love the razor-sharp fender creases
that are accented by the trim line running from parking light to
taillight. It's true full-size artistry on wheels.
The tan leather interior is original to the car, and since it has
only averaged around 1,250 miles annually, there has been little
time to wear it in. Like a true '70s luxury machine, the pillow-top
design is just as comfy as it looks. The custom stretch setup
leaves plenty of room in the back for a custom set of reverse
facing seats with a wet bar in-between. And because this one aims
to be as retro as possible, you still have great features on
display like a CB radio, portable TV, and even a '70s-style car
phone! While this was originally purchased by the back seat
occupant (it was built for the founder of Royal Bank) today you're
likely going to be enjoying the drive of this classic. So luckily
it's just as luxurious up front. There's a split bench with armrest
that power adjusts to your perfect driving position. Plus, it has
other premium items like a power windows, power locks, cruise
control, and cold factory air conditioning. And they all work
exactly as it should in this well-preserved Lincoln. But if you
really want to understand the level of care that has gone into this
limo, just look at the dashboard. Beyond just the amazing condition
of the wood paneling, this one still has its 8-track stereo in
working order!
With a luxury car so well preserved inside and out, it's great to
have what is believed to be the original motor (per the consignor)
still in the engine bay. Ford's 400 cubic-inch power plant is
related to the high-performance Cleveland V8s that went into
legendary muscle cars. But in this larger displacement, it was
refined to deliver the necessary torque to move this large limo in
quiet comfort. This has been nicely maintained so it looks great
and fires up on command. Plus, it has power steering, front disc
brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission. So it provides an
executive level of effortlessness from behind the wheel.
This one is going to make a scene wherever it goes - no matter if
you love a unique classic or just want to earn extra money with the
coolest retro limo around. So if you like the attention and
craftsmanship of this professional car, don't miss this deal. Call
