For Sale: 1973 Jensen-Healey Convertible in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Stk 2382 1973 Jensen-Healey PROJECT

The Jensen-Healey is a British two-seater that was manufactured from 1972 through 1976. It was positioned in the market between the Triumph TR-6 and the Jag E-Type. A total of 10,500 roadsters were produced by Jensen Motors Ltd. Our 1973 Jensen-Healey has been well cared for by the current owner for the last 23 years. A lot of restoration work has been completed, but there are still some areas that need to be addressed. The heart of the Jensen-Healey is the Lotus designed '907' engine and this one runs very well. This 2.0L DOHC all-alloy engine was the first modern 4-valve engine to be mass-produced on an assembly line. It incorporates all the mechanical advancements of Lotus racing technology, but gives a wide, usable power band for the street. Fuel is provided by a pair of Zenith Stromberg single-barrel carbs and the engine does not require emission air pumps or exhaust recirculation equipment. It produces over 140bhp and power is transmitted through a 4-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox. Suspension is simple, but effective. A double wishbone/coil set-up is utilized at the front and a live rear axle with trailing arms/coils at the rear. Power-assisted brakes consist of Girling Type 14 discs at the front and drums at the rear. A set of Powersport 'MiniLite' style alloy wheels mount nice Pirelli radial tires. The body of the Jensen-Healey was reshot with Corvette Red in 1996 and the 2-stage paint is still in good condition. There is a scrape on the right rear quarter panel and there is evidence of some minor rust in a few other spots. The black vinyl interior was also refreshed in 1996. New carpet has just been installed and an Eclipse AM/FM/CD stereo system has been installed. A manually operated soft-top is in good condition. This car has been well cared for, virtually complete and runs great. A little finish work is all that this rare Jensen-Healey needs to be ready for your next import cruise-in. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
