Now available in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is
this AWARD WINNING 1983 Chevrolet El Camino. Between the healthy
powerplant and the very comfortable interior, this car surely
deserved to win all of the awards it has. Under the hood of this
beauty is a five-liter V8 engine that runs very strong thanks to a
rebuild roughly 1000 miles ago. Supplying fuel to the engine is a
four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor topped by a chrome air cleaner
with a "5.0 Liter H.O." decal. Supplying the engine with that
air/fuel ratio is an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. Edelbrock
valve covers accent the carburetor and add an aggressive look to
the engine bay. Routing the exhaust gasses to the rear of the
vehicle is a Flowmaster exhaust system. Spark runs through braided
steel plug wires to the plugs. The coolant lines are also braided
steel with blue anodized fasteners. Keeping the engine cool are
dual electric Flex-A-Lite fans. Sending the power to the rear end
is a built Turbo-350 transmission that shifts crisply through the
gears. When it comes time to slow this truck down, the driver will
appreciate the front disc brakes that provide good bite and
stopping power. Overall this car runs very well and sounds just as
good. Moving outward, this car features an eye-catching yellow
paint job that is in good condition other than some very minor
imperfections. All of the appropriate badging is in place and in
good condition. Each of the doors feature red and black decals that
state "Super Sport". These decals tie in well with the smaller one
on the tailgate and the stripes running the length of the vehicle.
The bed of the truck is finished in a durable yellow spray-in bed
liner that adds to the utility and the look of the vehicle.
Supporting each corner of this cool ride are rally wheels that are
wrapped in BF Goodrich radial tires with good tread life left in
them. Upon entering this El Camino, the driver will immediately
notice how comfortable the leather bucket seats are. And with the
two tone pattern, they look just as good as they feel. The center
consol and dash also feature the same brown color as the seats.
Keeping the driving experience comfortable are power steering and
brakes. The temperature in the cabin will be well regulated
year-round thanks to functional AC/heat. If the driver ever gets
tired of hearing the healthy V8, there is also a radio tucked in
the dash. Overall this an excelent driver quality vehicle that has
an inpressive collection of awards. To see all the HD pictures and
