She is original farm truck with one previous owner with nice body given her years, and complete original drive train. The engine was running when it was parked in the mechanic’s garage. She has a nice set wheels and extra wheel rims in her industrially strong wooden bed. This 1953 Pickup was acquired from its one and only 68 year-old-driver who maintained much of her originality but has a few new parts to make farm use more longstanding. The title states 63k actual miles and for her age she is still holding her own. The stake-bed truck is fresher than the original bed and because of its pressure-treated, industrial wood, it can move heavy loads.
The engine compartment boasts a 235 cubic inch engine, 1bbl (with working manual choke on the dash)paired with a manual 4-speed transmission and being a straight 6....plenty of room to work on anything under the hood. Starting her is as easy as turning the key to the on-side, press the starter down by the gas pedal and next thing you know, your firing on all cylinders and headed out into your work day.
Inside you will find a modified pedestal seats, big Chevrolet steering wheel, long-stick floor shifter, e-brake and stock dash and gauges. (Please see photo for what has been removed.) The rear axle, suspension, and brakes are all stock and true to the truck. The behind the seat gas tank has been removed.

After World War II, the 1948 to 1953 Chevy truck ‘Advance Design Series’ of half-ton pick-ups became the iconic automobile company's first major design of the era, and it became the start of a new era for American pick-ups in general. Today, they are hot collectors' items. Designed with comfort in mind, the trucks added an adjustable bench seat to allow for three occupants, a larger cab with super wide doors, and bigger windows all around.
