For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Looking for a cool piece of Americana that'll turn heads anywhere it goes? If you're in the market for some vintage metal that's stylish, powerful and has lots of history, who says you have to buy a stuffy, high maintenance trailer queen? Just pick up the phone, call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte and we'll hook you up with a great car like this awesome Chevelle Super Sport! Combining a fuel injected 502 with a stout 3-speed drivetrain and striking black and red aesthetics, this gruff ground-pounder draws big crowds and big compliments. And if you're one of the many enthusiasts looking for a fun classic that's unrelentingly cool, it's your ticket to car guy nirvana!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of a comprehensive, body-off restoration, this awesome A-Body has been lovingly coated in sweet Tuxedo Black 2-stage that's adorned with vivid Super Sport stripes. At the front of the car's well-maintained panels, a familiar split-grille centers an ornate "SS" badge on a small "CHEVELLLE" script, H4 HID halos and a mirrored bumper that's finished with clear parking lamps. Behind that grille, a smooth Cowl Induction Hood flows to factory-tint glass, which rides under stainless frames, polished drip rails and a pliable vinyl roof. At the sides of that hood, a sculpted profile, founded in thin wheel liners and clean marker lamps, founds traditional door handles and a correct driver's mirror behind pristine "SS" badges and monochromatic "502" monikers. And at the back of that profile, a second mirrored bumper centers fresh tail lamps and a traditional Super Sport inlay between an ornate trunk emblem and polished exhaust tips.

ENGINE

Check the Satin Black engine bay and you'll find 502 cubic inches of buff Chevy big block that rumbles under FiTech Go EFI 4 600 HP fuel injection. At the top of the Chevy Orange mill, a polished, "502" branded air cleaner drops crisp wind in to a die cast throttle body. That throttle body, sequenced to braided fuel lines, surfs an aluminum Chevrolet intake. At the back of that plane, a Racing Power Company HEI distributor sequences spark through loomed Taylor plug wires. Above those cables, aluminum GM Performance Parts heads hang polished breathers and polished covers over coated Hedman Hedders. At the front of the block, billet pulleys spin a Wilson alternator opposite modern power steering. At the front of those ancillaries, a lightweight radiator makes excellent use of a polished expansion tank and two chrome puller fans. And a lucid Optima battery joins a fresh brake booster and a deep-sump oil pan to detail serious performance with serious quality.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

When the big block jumps to life, it spins torque through a proven Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed, which twists power to a tough 12-bolt axle that's finished with a choice Yukon posi and 3.31 Yukon gears. That B&M-capped pumpkin pushes a 4-link rear-half that's augmented with UMI springs, UMI control arms and a UMI sway bar. Opposite that suspension, a factory front-clip frames requisite power steering in two more UMI springs and a second UMI sway bar. At the corners, power-assisted discs and drums provide solid, consistent stops. Under the Satin Black floors, 3-inch exhaust pipes spent gases between long-tube headers, an H-shaped crossover, brash Flowmaster mufflers and polished stainless tips. Based on appearance, the car's builder valued details as much as essentials, with items like braided fluid lines and a CVR mini starter joining niceties like a polished transmission pan and a polished flywheel cover. And everything rolls on Magnum 500-style blades, which lap in 255/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 255/50ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

INTERIOR

Decked in attractive Medium Red vinyl, this Chevy's fully restored interior is tailored and taut. Seating is provided by stainless-trimmed buckets, which front a factory-spec bench. At the base of those thrones, color-keyed, SS-themed floor mats protect like-new carpet. In the middle of that carpet, a lockable console centers a small horseshoe shifter in faux carbon fiber trim. Opposite that console, vivid side panels feature correct emblems and correct hardware. At the front of those panels, a padded dash founds Deluxe Instrumentation next to Bluetooth RetroSound audio. In front of the driver, a color-keyed steering wheel spins satin spokes around a patriotic horn button. And behind the passengers, a restored trunk shades a crisp RetroSound Amplified Subwoofer.

Simply put: this 502-powered Chevelle is some of the coolest metal on the planet! As it sits, the car offers the best of both worlds: a solid cruiser, and a unique classic that sets itself apart from virtual acres of brightly colored pony cars and overwrought land yachts. Call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte to schedule some seat time!
