Description:

Extremely clean!  This is a high-quality VW Beetle that has few peers. You will be hard-pressed to find a better restoration on a VW. This is a fully restored Classic VW that took over three years. The car was taken down to nuts and bolts and rebuilt from the ground up. It has about 5 K miles since the body restoration. The car is a unique Standard European Model, not the typical North American Deluxe Model. The Standard model had more exposure and painted metal in the interior than the Deluxe.

This VW had a Full Pan Off Restoration with new floors welded in and seams all sealed. The full undercarriage was then coated with Por 15 and then bed lined. The entire body was stripped to bare metal inside and out and painted from scratch. No filler anywhere; this is an all-metal car. No permanent modifications have been made to the car. All accessories are easily removable if that is preferred. Thorough (High-Quality Butyl) sound deadening was used in the front storage area, under the carpet, behind the headliner, in the doors, and in the rear parcel shelf/storage area. There is NO Roofing Material used as a sound deadening in this car.

When I purchase the car in 2015, the engine had only 5K miles on it since being rebuilt (German short block, remanufactured 1600 Dual Port), not a cheap Brazilian cast 1600. The seller said the car ran perfectly and there was only a slight oil drip. Well, that was untrue! The engine ran roughly, and it leaked oil extensively. I took it to several shops and they all told me that VWs all leak a little oil, mine was just a little excessive. I was not happy neither with the oil leak nor the performance. I researched through several classic VW shops and found Rick Mock (Long Beach) who put in another rebuilt 1600 Dual Port motor with a non-leaking casing. Rick also increased the compression to 7.2 to 1 and added a larger Engle 100 Cam with TRW valves. The mileage at time of completion was 86,804 so I have put on only about one thousand miles since then.

All Brake lines, hoses, and hydraulics were replaced, all drums, shoes, hardware are new, new steering box, new kingpins, new shocks, new clutch, new starter, new generator, new wiper motor/mechanism arms, all new!!!

All rubber components were replaced with German-windows and seals. VW German glass found and installed. New door seals, trunk and hood seals, etc. etc.

New Steering wheel, all fittings in the interior are new, new carpet and matching trunk carpet. The seats, grab handles and headliner are LEATHER and were custom made for this car at an upholsterer who specializes in antique classics. The sun visors were custom made in the right color. New seat foams were installed. The door cards are from TMI and are vinyl. The match is perfect. Factory fitted 3 point seatbelts were replace with new 3 point belts in the front. The rear bench seat has two lap seat belts. I also have a new tool roll and the jack has been restored and is in its correct position directly behind the spare tire.

This bug has been converted to 12 Volt Electronics and ALL WIRING is new, including the wiring harness! A Retro-sound Radio is installed and it is the top of the line $450 model – Bluetooth compatible, USB in the glove box and connectors for expansion to add equipment if you like. Currently, it has two high-end speakers in the rear shelf area beneath the rear seats leading edge, which are more than adequate.

Accessories include:

Solid billet aluminum running boards with powder coated ribbing, mudguards, interior bamboo tray, Swan neck mirrors on front fenders, Robri Stone guards (Genuine- NOT Flat-4), 356 Headlamp guards, roof and rear engine trunk racks (High-Quality Chrome with Finished Oak slats, not cheap aluminum). There is also a full set of Flying Cog Hubcaps in fresh chrome and finally, a set of small glass and metal OEM Hella turn signal indicators. Again NO MODIFICATION was necessary to install these items. They can be easily and completely removed in about two hours.

Feel free to contact me if you want to see any more pictures of this little jewel!
