Vehicle Description

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, CORTEZ SILVER, 1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO RS Z-28 RECREATION...MUNCIE 4-SPEED, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES...BEAUTIFUL RESTORATION, READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!

Over the years I have met some great car folks who have a true passion for their cars and many times this passion means they love to locate quality cars and then take them to the next level building a car that they absolutely love. Many of these folks enjoy the process of getting the car to the point where it is ready to be driven, enjoyed and shown off and then realize they are ready to build another. Well, that is pretty much the story on this gorgeous 1969 Camaro RS Z-28 recreation. That's right, I did say Recreation as it is not a true factory Z-28 but was professionally built to look just like one and chances are you will have to divulge this when you are at the shows since most folks could never tell the difference. The gentleman who built this one bought it about 3 years ago and slowly got it where you see it today.  He worked with a team of professionals who all put their professional touches on it and now he realizes that he has way too much money in it and would like to move on to the next project. This is a great way to buy a classic muscle car as all of the money and aggravation that goes with the build process have been done. This sweet '69 Z-28 is now ready for the next lucky owner to turn the key, drive and enjoy, and take home some trophies if that is what you enjoy.....maybe you??!!

The gentleman I am selling this '69 for purchased it about 3 years ago and it had received a high quality cosmetic restoration prior to him. He believes the paint work was done about 8-10 years ago. When he got the car it was painted Cortez silver and may have only had one repaint. He added the Tuxedo Black Z-28 stripes on the hood and trunk which are buried under clear coat. He also upgraded the car with the Rally Sport Hideaway headlights using the high end Detroit Speed electric kit so they function beautifully. As you will see in the pictures the paint and body still looks excellent and the overall paint and body quality is what I would consider local show car quality but not concourse, trailer queen level. Overall the body is very straight and body panel gaps are very good, not perfect. Doors open and shut very nicely. I believe it may have had front fenders replaced at some point. As you will see this Z-28 wears all the correct badging and emblems. The Rally Sport package was finished correctly with the correct rear back up lights. Bumpers and stainless trim all look great. Rear bumper has the deluxe rear bumper guards. Front and rear glass was replaced and looks great. Side windows looks great and roll up and down nicely. Weatherstripping was all replaced. As you will see in the pics it was overcast on the day I took many of the pics and the color looks a bit darker then when it is in my showroom in the bright lights. There is plenty of clear coat and lots of shine and luster on this Cortez Silver metallic paint job. Close inspection shows some minor flaws like a few minor paint chips, a few very small bubbles on the lower corner of one door and some cracking in the paint along the seams of the lower rear valence where they smoothed in the panel to the rear quarters. None of these blemishes jump out at you when you walk around the car but I believe in disclosing the minor flaws I have seen upon close inspection. As you will see in the photo tour of the body below, this is one beautiful Z-28 Tribute car!!!

Complimenting the Cortez Silver Exterior is a beautiful black interior that was also completely restored. Everything from the seat covers, door panels, dash pad, carpeting and headliner were replaced with new over the past few years. Gauges look great and all work correctly although the fuel gauge may be slightly off.  It has the Factory style Tachometer in the dash cluster with center fuel gauge.  Tilt steering column allows drivers of all sizes to be comfortable and a comfort grip steering wheel was added. The Hurst 4-speed shifter begs to be driven. An updated custom auto sound digital stereo was neatly installed. Nice set of Fisher body sill plates welcome driver and passenger. Overall the interior simply looks fantastic and will make you feel like you are back in the Chevy Dealers showroom when you climb in this beauty.

At this point you may be wondering if this Cortez Silver Muscle machine runs and drives as good as it looks....absolutely!!!! In fact, the drive train and suspension was given as much if not more attention by the gentleman who built this beauty. Starting with the power plant, he had a nicely built 350 V8 professionally installed. Before it went in there were lots of goodies added like the Comp 286 Hydraulic Cam, roller tip rockers, new push rods, lifters, water pump, Holley 750 carb., Aluminum intake, Z-28 Aluminum finned valve covers, ceramic coated Dougs headers, Cowl induction air cleaner and much more. When you pop the hood you could be quickly fooled that this is not a DZ 302 motor. This motor is fresh and puts out an estimated 370 horsepower. Of course it has to have a 4-speed and of course the Muncie M-20 shifts smooth and the clutch was replaced and has a great pedal which needs little effort when going through the gears. Needless to say it is a blast to drive!! This '69 is also a breeze to drive thanks to the power steering and completely redone front end. This included a new steering box, new tie rods and bushings, and just about all of the suspension components making sure this Z-28 recreation tracks straight, turns with ease, and handles the curves tight and true. Stopping is also a breeze thanks to the newly added power front disc brake set up with all new brake lines. Power gets put to the rear wheels through the 12 bolt posi-traction rear with 4.10 gears. The ground pounding motor breathes through the Dougs headers and a great sounding dual exhaust that allows you to hear the nice lope from the cam but is not too loud. For the slightly updated stance that really makes these muscle cars stand out and handle better a sweet set of offset 18" American Racing Gray Spoke wheels wrapped in close to new radials were added. An alignment was just done. As you will see in the pics the engine bay was nicely detailed for shows and you will be proud to pop the hood at any event. Even the trim tag in the engine bay was re-created with the correct X-33 code which will have even the experts scratching their heads when you tell them this is a tribute car.

The undercarriage and floorpans look excellent overall. At the time of the new motor, the subframe was blasted and painted and the undercarriage was nicely detailed and cleaned. Fuel tank was replaced and e-brake was tightened and functions correctly. Again, this car was built to be driven not trailered but is certainly a level above most. Inside of the trunk looks fantastic and was detailed out and includes the correct trunk mat. The owner has a folder filled with receipts from out of the work that will be included.

Make sure you watch and listen to the video that follows to hear how great this car sounds!!!!!
