1940 proved to be a good year for Packard. Styling across the
entire marque was updated with a slightly restyled grille and
different placement of the headlamps, which now sat flush against
the tops of the fenders. The Packard 110 line was launched in
August 1939. While Packard had reintroduced the 6-cylinder line up
of cars in 1937, the 110 designation first appeared with the 18th
Series cars. The 110 was well received by the public; six different
bodies were offered and sales of that particular line topped all
others for that year. This proved that Packard was more than
capable of producing a car for every class and helped the company
thrive in uncertain economic times. The sportiest of the 110 line
up was the Convertible which seated four comfortably and resembled
the top-of-the-line Packards. Today, examples are rarely seen and
when they do come to market are sought-after by both collectors and
enthusiasts.
