Vehicle Description
Here's a 1968 Pontiac GTO with its original 400ci V8,
four-on-the-floor, and slick upgraded black paint. And after you
see the price, it's alright to say "WOW!" because we did, too.
This coupe was born Verdoro Green, but let's face it, one of the
meanest-looking GTOs ever needs a color that gives it the right
attitude. So the coupe was given a more recent investment in a
1968-correct Starlight Black. This professional application gives
it the kind of luster to immediately attract attention in the
sunlight, and it has the kind of even application that you'll even
be able to read neon signs off it during midnight cruises. Plus,
all the trim and the form-fitting rear bumper shine just as
brightly. The standard GTO used rather classy and subtle badging,
because it didn't need stripes or even a wing to stand out. After
all, this design was already pure intimidation in any rear view
mirror with dual hood scoops, hood pins, and the big chrome bumper
that expertly creates the beak-like front end. Add in the iconic
Rally II wheels, and this has everything you love about a speedy
Pontiac.
The factory-correct parchment bucket seat interior is quite
inviting with nicely detailed seat covers that showcase the
always-interesting Pontiac design motif. Plus, with the
coordinating door panels, sail panels, and headliner, it has a nice
upscale feeling. Of course you want to drive your classic, so the
black carpeting means you don't have to take off your shoes before
hopping in for a ride. Everything looks nice for a classic that is
now crossing the half-century mark. There are great preserved
pieces like the AM/FM radio and a tri-pod round gauge design with
the speedometer prominently in the middle. Plus, there have been
some nice upgrades along the way like a newer sports steering wheel
with a wood grip, a trio of auxiliary gauges, and a tach to go with
the stick-shift.
Filling the engine bay is the big 400 cubic-inch V8. You can tell
from the clean turquoise presentation as well as upgrades like the
air topper and valve covers that this has received the right
attention over the decades. But more than just look good, you've
got some great go-fast upgrade like the Holley four-barrel
carburetor, Procomp ignition, and long tube headers. That last one
not only adds power, but it also contributes to the thunderous
sound of the newer stainless dual exhaust. Best of all, you have
complete control over this muscle car motor and its thunderous
soundtrack thanks to the original four-speed manual transmission.
And this total power package also comes with power steering, front
disc brakes, and the grip of Dunlop Qualifier tires, so you can
take this GTO everywhere with ease.
Complete with owner's manual, this GTO has the right original
features, upgrades, and power to be your favorite muscle machine.
And at an obtainable price like this, you know you're looking at a
