For Sale: 1964 Shelby Cobra in La Jolla, California

Vehicle Description

A no-accident, very original example that has been completely restored in its original colors of Princess Blue with red leather. A nice album of photos and receipts of restoration is available. Still retaining its original foot boxes, inner alloy panels, original body panels, dash, frame, bright work, bumpers and window glass. Chassis number stampings are found on the rear trunk latch, front hood latch, and both doors. The original frame stamping is intact. The chassis number etching is still visible on the transmission tunnel aluminum. The Shelby tag is original.

Originally delivered new to Will Stuckey Ford in Pennsylvania, CSX2306 was purchased by first owner, Lowell Martin, in June of 1964. Color was Princess Blue with red leather, wire wheels and full road equipment. Eventually selling to Gerald Farris in Mississippi, who was partner in a race team with William Jeanes, the future publisher of Road and Track and Car and Driver magazines. Eventually ending up with SAAC Cobra historian Ned Scudder, who owned the car twice for a total of 25 years. Selling it in 2010 to the present owner who had the car comprehensively restored to as delivered condition.

Accessories: Equipped with soft top bows and soft top, side curtains, spare wheel and tire, knock off hammer, jack, jack handle, tool kit and owner’s
manual.

Spares: Has a spare set of original painted wire wheels, original manifold and carburetor with air cleaner.

Of Note: One of the most original and nicely restored examples of a rack and pinion 289 Cobra.
