From the beginning, Cadillac had been nearly synonymous with
luxury. People spoke of countless products as "The Cadillac of
(whatever)." Owning one was viewed as an accomplishment, a
demonstration that one had "made it." Introduced September 12th,
1975, was the 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille D'Elegance, and almost as
if it was still 76' we have one here with us with only 9,000
original miles! In beautiful Innsbruck Blue, with Dark Blue
interior, this highly packaged Cadillac has all the options a car
should have. Measuring in at a massive 231" in length, it was
necessary to be powered by the behemoth 500 c.i. 7.7L V8 and a 3
speed automatic transmission. Ordered with power locks, power
windows, power antenna for the FM/AM radio, power 6-way seats, the
D'Elegance Package, and the new first year automatic door locking
system. Though this may have been the last year for the rectangular
taillights, it was definitely not the end of Cadillacs. Needless to
