Mercedes has been well known for bringing both mechanical
innovation and outstanding style lines to the market since
inception. Even into the late 1970's with alloy engines and
performance-inspired sedans like the 6.9, technology lead the way
to well-funded buyers! Anti-lock brakes, Acceleration Slip Control
(ASC), dash air bags, electro/mechanical fuel injection, electronic
ignition systems, and more. The Type 126 Coupe was offered from
1981-1991 for all markets, but in very limited production numbers
each year. Sharing the chassis and interior appointments of the
top-of-the-line S-Class, it didn't disappoint buyers with road
handling, nor availability in options. The MSRP averaged $75,000,
so it was also left for the privileged few that could order one! We
are very pleased to offer this 2-owner 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SEC
Coupe finished in factory code 199- Blauschwartz Metallic
(Blue-Black Metallic) over code 275- Cream Beige interior! Options
on this outstanding looking example include number's matching &
hand built 5.6L all-aluminum SOHC V8, 4-speed overdrive automatic
transmission, 16"x8" AMG Monoblock wheels, AMG springs with
Bilstein shocks, ABS brakes, power windows & locks, power 8-way
seats with power headrests, memory & heat, illuminated vanity
mirrors, luggage nets on front seat backrests, cruise control,
factory Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/Cassette radio, power sunroof,
power locks, rear defrost, automatic climate control, windshield &
headlight washers, front fog lamps, heat-insulated window glass
(tinted), onboard first aid kit, and more! This example was built
March 10th, 1987, and delivered new by Continental Motors Inc. in
Fairfield, Connecticut to its first owner in April 28th, 1987, so
it was likely sold before it even landed in the USA. The original
owner was Jeffrey Castaldo of A.G.I. Rubber Company based in
Bridgeport, CT who would hang onto this one until April 2016 before
selling to Evergreen Historic Automobiles. It would have only
57,000 original miles! It would be showcased in their collection
just one year, adding only a handful of delivery miles, before it
would become part of our showcase with 57,175 miles on the odometer
today! In March 2016, it would receive a remarkable amount of
attention due to it being driven so sparingly. This included all
new front and rear brake rotors, pads, & wear sensors, complete
flush of brake fluid, all new spark plugs, fresh drive belts, all
new fluids in engine, transmission, & differential, new battery,
new fuel filter, new Mercedes muffler and center pipes, all new
steering control bushings, all new Continental Extreme Contact
tires, 4-wheel alignment, lubed all hinged components, new blower
motor & resistor, and more! It starts easily and runs truly
wonderfully on the road! The air conditioning received a new
compressor and continues to perform perfectly! The original radio,
power antenna, seatbelt extenders, all power features, gauges &
safety items all remain fully functional. It is a very sharp car
with minimal paintwork limited to the hood, front & rear lower
fascias due to normal wear, but all panels remain 100% original and
accident free. Please feel free to call with questions or schedule
a chance to review in person. Act quickly!
