Meet Black Billy, named after the original owner's long time
boss, Billy Gibbons of ZZ-Top. This one owner car was purchased new
in Houston, TEJAS in 1981 by the band's private pilot and friend,
and its been FLYIN' HIGH ever since. This 1981 Corvette Stingray
finished in rare Tuxedo Black and Camel Tan Leather is an
unmodified, unmolested and mostly original example of the late
model C3 body style.
Other than maybe a few BEER DRINKERS AND HELL RAISERS or some well
known TRES HOMBRES this iconic American sports car has always been
adult driven and kept in LA GRANGE (I mean garage) and away from
any RIO GRANDE MUD. The car has seen little use in recent years.
All mechanical systems have been checked out by my MANIC MECHANIC,
fluids refreshed and a new battery and set of tires installed to
ensure a safe reliable ride that means you'll never be WAITIN' ON
THE BUS. This Stingray starts right up; idles, runs and drives
excellent. Its original L81 350 cubic inch 4-barrel carbureted V8
engine still pulls strong. The 3-speed Turbo Hydromatic
transmission shifts smoothly and kicks down as it should and out on
the open road, she's got LEGS. The exhaust has a nice throaty sound
especially when you hit the AFTERBURNER. The steering and
suspension are tight giving you confidence when out on a back roads
TUBE SNAKE BOOGIE.
The paint shows well and your TUSH will appreciate the
reupholstered seats. Door cards and carpet look great. Everything
works as intended including the clock. The aftermarket Sony stereo
sounds great and has an aux cord to connect your ZZ-Top playlist or
when you need to HEARD IT ON THE X. The mirrored glass T-Tops fit
better than any CHEAP SUNGLASSES and all the window glass and
weatherstripping are in great shape.
Like a SHARP DRESSED MAN there has always been something special
about black Corvettes. With only 83,000 original miles it should be
no surprise when this Stingray grabs the PEARL NECKLACE at the
local car show and draws nothing but thumbs up while out on an
afternoon FANDANGO.
Not as valuable as the early C3 "chrome bumper" versions produced
from 1968-1972 these final editions (1980-1982) with their well
integrated soft bumpers are arguably the best looking of the entire
third generation Corvette. Only recently have these begun to gain
traction with collectors in search of good solid, unmodified,
numbers matching examples like this one. The opportunity to find a
good one at a reasonable price is now. Take care of this car and
you will never lose money on it.
This is your chance to own a Rock Star classic on a Roadie
budget.
This Stingray is looking for a new owner to GIMMIE ALL YOUR LOVIN'
but nothing's GOT ME UNDER PRESSURE to sell, so all you low ballers
can spare me. This Corvette is located in Rowlett, Texas and is
offered at best offer as is where is. Texas residents may be
subject to tax and fees. If you are reading this the car is for
sale. Scammers and sales assistants need not apply. Call, text or
reply.
