The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a special place in American
muscle car history. The second generation of the vehicle sold
between 1970 and 1981 featured several styling and power plant
changes from year to year. 1979 marked a fairly significant turning
point for the iconic brand as it was the last year Pontiac offered
its large-displacement engines. The 301 cid V8 was offered as
credit option L37 in 1979 and became the standard issue for all
Trans Am models the following year. Gateway Milwaukee is proud to
present this Mayan Red, one owner survivor L37 equipped Firebird
Trans Am. This smooth running, numbers matching, V8 powerplant is
mated to a 4-Speed manual close ratio transmission. The owner
states 29,962 original miles! Upgrades include a true dual exhaust
added in 1980 with Hooker headers. Factory options include AM/FM
Stereo by Delco-GM, Rally Wheels and dual horns. Standard features
include power steering, power brakes and black cloth interior. Well
maintained survivors from this era are getting harder to find. This
beautiful Pontiac Trans Am is located at our Milwaukee showroom.
