1956 Continental Coupe Mark II
Chassis no. C56B2039
Mileage: 24,250
The Continental Mark II was developed to be the finest automobile possible as a tribute to Edsel Ford. Given a classic “long hood/short deck” profile and a simulated spare tire bulge on the trunk lid, this car became a classic. New, the Continental Mark II cost $9,695 making it the most expensive American production car in twenty years. It boasted nearly every comfort and convenience gadget as standard equipment. Ford was very clear that this was not a Lincoln, but a Continental, a separate division established to add exclusivity to the luxury marque.
With only 2,550 Continental Mark II’s ever produced this truly is a special car. This particular example is finished in its original Black on White/Black interior. This is a very straight car with everything fully functioning and in fantastic restored condition. Coming with the powerful 368ci V8 rated at 275HP mated to the smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission, this car makes for the perfect cruiser. This car has recently undergone a $10,700 refurbishment on items such as rebuilt carburetors, rebuilt AC, rebuilt oil, amp, temp, and fuel gauges, new wiper motor, new battery, re-chromed pieces, and much more. This rare and special car will turn heads and is sure to make you smile.
