Vehicle Description
Nicknamed "Pistachio," this is a 1975 Westfalia Deluxe Helsinki
Camper Bus. During its restoration every component was
professionally inspected and repaired to factory specs or replaced
with original German parts when available. This camper bus is
loaded with factory and dealer options including: a propane
two-burner stove, 12-volt sink with 10-gallon tank,
icebox/refrigerator, power/battery charger, water hookup, front
drive-in table, middle accessory table, rear swivel table, complete
original curtain set, mosquito net for rear hatch, Westfalia power
cord, jump seat option, factory camp stool, rare option map light,
German chrome finger guards, and its original Blaupunkt AM radio.
It even has the elusive yellow bucket with lid for the center
console. The original chrome front and rear bumpers with the bump
strips are in good condition as is the original carpeting and
matting. It has a new 3-window pop-top canvas tent and the front
screen zips out for access to the luggage rack. The stove and sink
are in good condition with a new sink pump and fresh propane, and
all interior lights are correct. The cabinets are all in good
condition. The factory side awning is great for additional shade or
shelter from the elements. It also has the rare factory-original
collapsible spare tire and Coleman/VW air pump. The nicely detailed
motor compartment houses the updated 2000cc engine with hydraulic
valves that was rebuilt with all German parts. The 4-speed manual
transmission was checked and serviced, and new CV axles, joints and
boots were installed. The front end has all-new ball joints, tie
rods, center link pin, drag link and new alignment. It rides on
Michelin tires and new KYB shocks. It has a new front shaded
windshield, reupholstered front seats, and rebuilt brake shoes,
lines, calipers, rotors, pads and wheel cylinders. The Yosemite
Yellow paint is in good condition and the whole thing has been
fully prepped and undercoated to be preserved for years. Included
with the vehicle are receipts up until 1999 when the bus was taken
off the road and stored.
