Vehicle Description
All-steel bodied, this example is the second year of the two-seat
GT-style sports car built by the American Motors Corporation to
compare with GM's Corvette and Ford's Mustang. The 1969 AMX was
voted Best Engineered Car of The Year by The American Society of
Automotive Engineers. This AMX is fitted with a 290/225hp V8
engine, 4-barrel carburetor, shift-command automatic transmission
and factory air conditioning. It is one of 299 built with the 290ci
engine and automatic transmission.
