Vehicle Description
Most people feel that when they are buying a "replica" vehicle that
it is not worthy of the original and just a knock off that was
pieced together with old parts and built by some guy in a garage
with a some buddies because they knew how to build Lego's as a kid.
Since the popularity of the Cobra, many kit car companies have done
their best to replicate a true American icon in the automotive
world, many have failed and there are a few select that have really
succeeded with a quality kit with a proper setup for success.
Classic Roadster based out of North Dakota had been supplying kits
since 1979 and have many fine kits to choose from. The Cobra or MX
version that they offered is regarded as one of the top brands in
this arena.
This gorgeous car is in remarkable shape all around and it is very
evident that the build and quality components that were used were
done right and proper. The vehicle sits on the longer wheelbase
which gives the driver and passenger much more room along with a
little larger trunk for added storage. The vehicle was built by a
previous shop manager and the attention to detail and care that
went into the build is very impressive. Simple things like the rear
wood dash that is usually wrapped in plastic or cheap leather. This
monster comes alive quickly and the monstrous 347 V8 Stroker engine
with an estimated 550HP - it has a mean growl and the dual side
pipes gives you a sound that would scare the boogie man off the
street. The engine was a new 5.0L block with rods, CompCams roller
cam, TrueRoller timing chain, Edelbrock performance RPM intake
manifolds, 650 Demon Carburetor, 1 3/4in custom headers, MSD
ignition and distributor, billet steel flywheel, and so much more
done to the engine alone. Vehicle has the proven and strong 3550
Tremec 5spd transmission with a 10.5 Ford racing clutch assembly.
Vehicle comes with four wheel disc brakes and dual master cylinder
brke assembly. Interior is well sorted and comes with period
correct seats with the RJS 5-point harness seatbelts with
adjustable seat, wood steering wheel with tilt feature, Autometer
ultra lite electronic gauges and functioning wipers, horn, lights
and turn signals.
The suspension is a coil spring setup with KYB gas adjustable
shocks, front strut rods and heavy sway bar along with 9in Ford 4
link and sway bar and custom 2in chrome roll bar behind the driver.
Vehicle stands out with the American Torque thrust chrome wheels
and huge BF Goodrich tires that will provide plenty of grip.
Vehicle has spent its life in Idaho and Oregon and has been
pampered its entire life with less than 16,000 mile logged and
shows just as nice as when it was new. Vehicle is titled as a 1966
and comes with a clean MI title, full documentation of the build,
receipts, and an apetitie for ashphalt! Quality builds like this
one do not come around very often and the price is very aggressive
for the market.
