Vehicle Description
The hot Corvette for 1988 was RPO Z01, the limited (2,050 built)
35th Anniversary Special Edition Package, available as a coupe
only. Costing an additional $4,795 over the standard coupe's
$29,480 price tag, the Z01 was packed with extras. Sporting a
predominantly white exterior - including wheels, body side
moldings, door handles and revised Corvette emblem - the side
badging signified Corvette's 35th Anniversary. The body roof bow
was painted black, giving the car a two-tone appearance. On the
inside, the white theme continued with 35th Anniversary-embroidered
white leather seats, white door panels and steering wheel, and a
special console bade with engraved sequence number; in this case,
#1989. The Z01 option consisted of white leather sport seats, power
driver and passenger seats, a blue-tinted lift-off roof panel,
electronic air conditioning, an illuminated driver visor mirror,
Delco-Bose stereo, rear window and side window defroster, and the
Sport Handling Package. The package also included a radiator boost
fan, Delco-Bilstein shocks, an engine oil cooler, heavy-duty
radiator, a faster overall steering ratio, and larger aluminum
wheels with Goodyear Eagle tires. This Corvette is powered by a
5.7-liter engine with automatic transmission. This particular car
was gifted to Craig Jackson and his mother Nellie Jackson on the
auction block at the 2006 Scottsdale Auction by longtime
Barrett-Jackson customer and Corvette enthusiast Dave Ressler, who
passed away recently, and the sale of this vehicle will honor his
memory. 100% of the hammer price of this special Corvette will
benefit the American Heart Association, marking the start of
Barrett-Jackson's yearlong "Driven Hearts" charitable initiative
for the AHA. **100% OF HAMMER PRICE TO BENEFIT THE AMERICAN HEART
