Vehicle Description
This car is fully documented through PHS to be a factory ordered
black over red 389 Tri-Power Bonneville Convertible. The multiple
carbureted, full size Pontiacs have been capturing the attention of
serious collectors and are becoming more and more mainstream
everyday. From an investment standpoint. These cars are a solid
investment with a lot of upside potential, in the years to come.
This example, is in driver condition currently. The interior was
redone some years back and is still presentable but not perfect.
The engine is a correct 389 with a 4 barrel carburetor and is not
original to the car. It has been recently rebuilt and is very
healthy, in both power and reliability. The frame, the floors, the
trunk, are all original and are in sound condition. The top has
been replaced at some point and is in very good functional and
cosmetic condition. The paint and body should be addressed, in the
future, to bring the car to the next level. Overall the body is
pretty clean but will need metal repair on the bottom of both
fender and the right front corner of the hood and the bottoms of
both rear 1/4 panels. The bottoms of the doors appear to be solid
as well . Both bumpers and the pot metal bright work should be
rechromed. That being said, this is the type of car you can drive
like it is and do a little each year to bring the car to the level
it deserves. Update: The car has had a new trunk seal installed
along with a new windshield. The front upper control arm bushings
were recently replaced along with new front springs. All four
shocks were replaced at that time as well.
