Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to offer a truly
one-of-a-kind 1955 Buick Special two door sedan that's a stunning
shade of dark purple. This big Buick was made for this color, and
with some custom body mods and lavishly restored stainless and
chrome trim, this beautiful Special will grab everyone's attention
wherever it goes. The contrasting white interior is period-perfect
with the tuck-n-roll upholstery, and the chrome dash and restored
steering wheel look great. This was a nice car to start with,
coming from Texas and showing just 48K miles on the odometer. The
best part of this Flint flyer is what's under the hood...an
original 264 cubic inch "Nailhead" engine with an Offenhauser
tri-power intake, polished valve covers, electronic ignition, a new
generator, and updated 12 volt electrics. All of that vintage
American horsepower is handled by a rebuilt Dynaflow automatic
transmission. Most if not all of the componentry under the car was
also replaced during the rebuild; new exhaust, front and rear
suspension, steering, and brakes make this car a pleasure to own
and drive. It looks like the typical car you'd see in the rod and
custom magazines from the late '50's or early '60's. It's
period-perfect, but better!
