Following the success of the 1958 Impala, designers at Chevrolet pulled out all the stops for the flamboyant lines of the 1959 model year! Going a different direction with the ultimate fin campaign by all manufacturers, the rear view of the 1959 Impala dominates all! With the tail fins protruding outward versus upward and those gorgeous teardrop taillights. Always impressive, and distinctive from just about any distance, these top-of-the-line Chevrolet offerings continue to be highly sought after today! 1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe Hardtop For Sale Offered here is an outstanding 1959 Chevrolet Impala Hardtop Sport Coupe finished in factory code correct Snowcrest White(936A) over Red Cloth/Vinyl(873) interior! It's loaded with factory options that include original DM-code 283ci V8-4bbl V8 with Powerglide automatic, factory air conditioning, power steering, upgraded power brakes with dual master cylinder, 6-way power driver's seat, rear continental kit, all E-Z-Eye tinted glass, updated Custom Autosound AM/FM/MP3 audio system with new front & rear speakers (original Wonderbar radio and one speaker included), dual rear antennas, dual outside spotlight mirrors, Autronic Eye auto dimmer on dash, Dinsmore compass mounted above the Day/Night rearview mirror, factory locking gas cap, Deluxe Fisher seat belts with front seat retractors, rear fender skirts, spinner hubcaps, and modern Goodyear Super Cushion wide whitewall tubeless radial tires measuring 205/75R14! This beautiful example came to the Museum from southern Florida where the previous owner exercised it rather regularly on fair weather days with excursions as far as Fort Lauderdale to Miami and back. He had owned and meticulously cared for this Impala for 26 years! Upon arrival, this nearly all original car was showing some mild patina, particularly with the exterior paint. So in May 2017, it was delivered to Donovan Auto Body for an expert tear down of all exterior trim, chrome, and removal of all weather stripping. After a careful soda blasting down to bare metal, it was sealed and received several primer coats from expert sanding efforts to provide a brilliantly smooth finish for the top coats of base & clear. Absolutely NO rust was present and only minimal bodywork was required to prepare this enormous GM body! Pictures of this process are available for the sale. The final finish was fully color sanded and highly polished to show quality results! It was completed in November 2017 at a cost of nearly $15,000 with all new weather stripping installed throughout! Inside, the interior remains factory original with exception to the newly installed radio and speakers. Truthfully, with less than normal wear present for a near 60-year-old vehicle, we found the overall condition to be quite outstanding! We did rebuild the factory Rochester 4-barrel carburetor with new brass floats, changed the engine oil & filter, rebuilt the air conditioning system with an R134a conversion completed, replaced the entire exhaust system, installed a new battery, replaced the rear trunk trim kit for new, along with a few other small mechanical items. It continues to operate wonderfully! With the perfect combination of power accessories, modern radial tires, and creature comforts for year-round enjoyment, it represents an outstanding opportunity for the astute collector looking for originality with drivability! Act quickly! None of the 1959 Impalas we have had over the years ever last long! Even harder to find one like this! Call with questions or to set up an appointment to review in person!
