Vehicle Description
History
The Ford Model A or A-bone among street roaders and customizers,
was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its
predecessor, the Model T. First produced on October 20, 1927, but
not sold until December 2, it replaced the venerable Model T, which
had been produced for 18 years. This new Model A was available in
four standard colors.
We are pretty sure that the eye-popping, bright red paint we have
on this 1931 Model A Street Rod here at Skyway Classics was not one
of those 4 the factory offered! And that is just the first thing
you admire when you look at this great piece.
Features
This traditional 1931 Model A has all the right combinations of
parts to give it the look, the stance, and the ride you will want
for yourself. To begin with, it was built at C & C Rod Shop who
build some of the best hotrods in the Florida area.
The bright red leather and red carpeting compliments the exterior
paint scheme perfectly. The bright aluminum dash contains an array
of Classic performance gauges, as well as houses the polished and
red steering wheel. Matching door panels, air conditioning, and
roof panels finish it out.
The chassis has a chrome front end and the rear is an independent
leaf spring unit with both having much of them coated in chrome.
The chassis rides on aluminum mag wheels and 195/70/14 tires in
front with 275/60/16 tires on the rear to give it the right
rake.
Power comes from a 350 4 Barrel Chevy motor topped with many
performance parts including: an Edelbrock intake manifold with
Webber carb, headers, tranny cooler, chrome accessories, and
performance ignition. The exhaust gases flow out the back through
duals with chrome tips. The vehicle drives and sounds amazing, and
is a testament to the craftsmanship out into it.
