Vehicle Description
You're looking at the ultimate lead sled. This 1951 Mercury Eight
has been customized so much over every inch both inside and out
that you'll likely nickname it "Snowflake" because you're never
going to see another one like it.
Take one look at the body. This Mercury has all the great traits of
the legendary hot rods like the frenched headlights, shaved door
handles, and dual spotlights. Plus, great custom elements have been
expertly integrated to make it look like they were there from day
one. This includes the C1 Corvette grille, tall '94 Cadillac
taillights, and the dual rear bumpers of a 1955 Pontiac. And of
course, the body was chopped to make sure this has the sleek
profile this iconic street machine deserves. But our favorite
custom element has to be the paint. The bright white and deep
metallic silver two-tone has been expertly applied so that they
complement each other as they highlight the best attributes of the
Merc's sheetmetal.
When you pop the remote door opener, make sure you do it for both
the front and rear door. Because once people see the cool suicide
setup, you'll instantly know why you want a sedan. And when they
peek inside, they'll see an expertly blended world of old and new.
The plush two-tone gray seating looks great, and it coordinates
with the door panels and headliner for a very thoughtful look. Best
of all, it has the kind of comfort that will keep you happy all
day. The same goes for modern upgrades like the AM/FM/CD stereo,
cup holder center console, and ice-cold R134a air conditioning. As
a true cruising machine, you get all the best driving features,
including a Lecarra steering wheel, full VDO gauges, and controls
for the rear air shocks.
There's plenty of style under the hood with the 302 cubic-inch V8
looking bright with the valve covers, air topper, master cylinder,
and upgraded pulleys. Plus, this V8 has been upgraded with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, performance intake, and headers
that feed the dual exhaust. So this custom build has the torque and
growl to back up its slick appearance. But more than just a good
power package, this one was built to be a fine cruiser. That's why
you have features like the three-speed automatic transmission and
an aluminum radiator to keep it all running cool even when the A/C
is pumping. Add in power steering and front disc brakes, and you'll
happily be able to show this cool Mercury off everywhere.
With only 10,422 miles on the whole build, this Mercury lead sled
not only looks fantastic, but also this compete custom build was
made to run strong all day long. Don't miss the all-around stunner.
