First year of the 964. 1989 was the first significant change to the 911 model. Prior to 964 Porsche developed the 959 Super car for the European market. That success in technological break through was transferred to the 911 resulting in over 80% new parts used on the '89's. This is the way they came, 3.6, Coupe, Manual and All wheel drive. If you wanted a Cab, Targa, C2 or Tiptronic you had to wait until 1990. This car tick's all the boxes, Rust free body, Strong engine, smooth shifting with a great clutch, excellent suspension and excellent interior. When we purchased this Porsche it did have a list of needs and we have sorted them out. Our in house Porsche mechanic was given the green light to fix what needed to be done. He removed the fan ducting and replaced with Bosch transistor units and replaced with Bosch ignition coils, Removed and cleaned the distributor caps, and serviced the caps and rotors, replaced the idle control valve, New air cleaner and replaced the cracked housing with a replacement, along with the air mass meter. The spoiler motor was bad and was replaced, The AC system was gone through, serviced with a couple new fittings and recharged, New battery, New Oil and filter, Fresh tires and a full detail complete with a cut and polish.
