1931 Ford Model A Deluxe Roadster
Dual side mounts, spare wheels and rumbler seat. Frame-off restoration of this all steel car. Rebuilt engine with new distributor, spark plugs and wires. (New engine pistons, crank, cam, connecting rods, values and high compression head), four speed OD transmission, rear-end with high speed gears.
Radiator, Aries muffler, tires/ tubes, shocks, bumpers (stainless), horn, trunk. New upholstery with Lebaron Bonney interior, new bows, top and side curtains.
The car is newly painted with the original Ford colors - black fenders, Lombard blue body with straw wheels and Hessian blue pin stripes on body and dash.
This original roadster is being sold at a fraction of what I spent to rebuild it. Receipts avalible. Always placed first at every show I attended.
This roadster was restored as a highway touring car with the following features:
Counter balanced engine with clutch and lightened flywheel
Touring grind camshaft
Insert main bearings versus stock Babbitt bearings
High compression head with 5.50 to 1 ratio versus stock of 4.22 to 1
Larger intake valves 1.730 head diameter
High speed rear end with 3.54 to 1 ring/ pinion gear versus the stock ratio of 3.78 to 1 with new bearings in rear end and axle
Full floating and self energizing improvement upgrade to mechanical brakes
Engine rebuild of the original engine by Antique Engine Rebuilding (matching numbers) - With Don Hussing of Wausau, WI doing the install:
Four speed transmission from 1988 ford pickup, the fourth gear is an over drive, shift up or down any time, no double clutching. Don Hussing of Wausas, WI did the install - 55/60 mph at low rpm, first three gears are the same as the original A transmission.
Float A mounts was used when installing engine
New floor carpet, body panels and upholstery was installed
New seat spring in car and rumble seat
New stainless steel top iron and oak bows
New etched wing windows
Brakes on all four wheels completely rebuilt with new linings and cast iron drums
Steering gear box from a newer Ford pickup installed by Sam Guthrie at Model A restorers of Az
Front axle rebuilt with all new bearings and king pins
Original radiator was installed after completely rebuilding to new condition
Rebuilt and plated original vacuum wiper motor and blade
New running boards with stainless steel trim
New 600x16 radial whitewall tires with powder coated rims
All six tires and original rims with the properr size come with the car, stainless covers for the dual side mount tires
New Rex 6 volt alternator - the original generator comes with the car
New leakless water pump with new hose and clamps
New original steel muffler made by Aries
New shocks with Teflon ball seats (never need grease)
New rear mounted trunk and cover with stainless steel rack
Custom top-of-the-line car cover
New steel and powder coated tool box installed at bottom and front of radiator, check picture to see the location
Safety Features: seat belts, turn signals, LED dual tail lights, quartz hologen headlights, dual side mirrors
The turn signals make a sound when on so that you do not forget to turn them off
The car has a convertor (cigarette style plug in) 6 volt to 12 volt to allow use of phones, Ipad and accessories
The car has a shut off switch on the gas line that works when you shut off the engine
The car is equipped with a battery Electrical disconnection switch to save on battery drain when not being used or theft of the car
The car has a trailer hitch that a receiver fits into, it was powder coated before being installed
